Vertiv matures system-level infrastructure designs to support future NVIDIA AI infrastructure
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced a milestone in its collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate the next generation of AI factories, detailing its design maturity for 800 VDC power architectures. Building on its strategic alignment announced in May 2025, Vertiv has significantly advanced its platform designs to accelerate its ‘unit of compute’ strategy, moving from concept to engineering readiness. The 800 VDC power portfolio is planned to release in the second half of 2026, aligning to support the 2027 rollout of NVIDIA Rubin Ultra platforms.
From Commitment to Execution
The data center industry is at a critical inflection point: Traditional 54 VDC in-rack distribution, designed for kilowatt-scale racks, cannot meet the megawatt-scale demands of accelerated computing. To address this, Vertiv and NVIDIA are collaborating on scalable Vertiv™ 800 VDC systems integrated with energy storage, creating the foundation for AI factories optimized for large-scale, synchronous AI and high-performance computing workloads. Vertiv is finalizing its component specifications for comprehensive platform designs which include centralized rectifiers, high-efficiency DC busways, and rack-level DC-DC converters engineered to support the megawatt scale rack demands of future NVIDIA compute.
“Larger AI workloads are reshaping every aspect of data center design,” said Scott Armul, executive vice president, global portfolio and business units at Vertiv. “Our systems-level expertise in both AC and DC-based power data center architectures positions us uniquely to address the unprecedented power demands of AI workloads. With the development of our Vertiv 800 VDC platform designs, we’re translating our extensive experience into next-generation solutions that will support the massive compute densities required for AI factories.”
“Powering the next generation of megawatt-scale AI factories requires a fundamental shift in power architectures,” said Dion Harris, senior director, HPC, Cloud and AI Infrastructure at NVIDIA. “NVIDIA and Vertiv are working closely together to develop the scalable and efficient power foundation needed to unlock the full potential of next-generation AI infrastructure.”
The Next Chapter for 800 VDC Power
A trusted leader in the data center space, Vertiv’s 800 VDC power portfolio builds on decades of experience and technologies in DC architectures for telecom and industrial applications. Vertiv is actively engaged in the early design phases of several large AI factory projects, where its reference designs and product designs are being performance-tested and validated, and scaled against real-world, gigawatt-scale demands.
Platform Readiness, Service Maturity
This platform-level readiness extends to Vertiv’s global service model. Safely servicing complex 800 VDC environments is a critical enabler for AI factory adoption and a key differentiator for Vertiv. The company’s proven serviceability for AC and DC systems, backed by its 4,000+ field service engineers, provides the long-term operational confidence required for mission-critical AI deployments.
“We are engineering a holistic, scalable system where infrastructure parts interoperate as one – demonstrating Vertiv’s role as a systems-level partner, moving from vision to readiness and enabling the infrastructure necessary to power future-ready AI factories,” said Armul.

For the first time in history, APM Terminals Gothenburg will receive three weekly mainliner calls to Asia. The new service enables more frequent, reliable, and sustainable transport of goods between Asia and Sweden.
Behind this historic development stands the French shipping giant CMA CGM, which at the end of October will add Gothenburg as a new port of call on its FAL1 Asia–Europe service. The line connects Gothenburg directly with some of the world’s largest ports in China, South Korea, Singapore, and Europe.
“This is a clear indication that the Port of Gothenburg is a highly prioritized hub on the global trade map. Three strong weekly alternatives for direct services to Asia significantly strengthen the competitiveness of Swedish industry, providing faster lead times and access to new, exciting markets,” says Mikael Gutman, Managing Director of APM Terminals Gothenburg.
“We are pleased to announce this FAL1 call in Gothenburg on a weekly basis. Our customers remain our biggest focus and they have been requesting this call for a long time, I am happy that we are now able to meet their request,” says Linus Ljungmark, Agency General Manager CMA CGM Sweden.
One of the vessels in the FAL1 service, the 366-meter-long CMA CGM Symi, is powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) – a fuel that significantly reduces emissions compared to conventional marine diesel.
“The CMA CGM Symi is a testament to our commitment to further accelerate the decarbonization of transport and logistics. With this call we are able to offer our Swedish customers shipping solutions with significantly reduced emissions,” says Jonatan Östberg, Chief Commercial Officer CMA CGM Sweden.
“The fact that more shipping lines are investing in alternative fuels is a vital part of the industry’s sustainable transition. Combined with our climate-efficient rail connections from Gothenburg to the rest of the Nordic region, we are creating one of Europe’s most sustainable logistics chains,” adds Mikael Gutman.
