Several FC Bayern players took top spots in the “Footballer of the Year” vote. Among the women, Giulia Gwinn received the most votes with 145, sharing first place with Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC). Klara Bühl came in third with 52 votes, and Lea Schüller (39) took fifth place. Pernille Harder (20) and Lena Oberdorf (10) finished ninth and tenth, respectively. In total, five FCB women’s players made it into the top ten.
633 members of the Association of German Sports Journalists (VDS) participated in the vote, organized by Kicker magazine. The deadline for entries was July 28. The award has been presented since 1960, with Franz Beckenbauer holding the record with four titles.
