Police have taken Aleema Khan and Noreen Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, into custody near Adiala Jail during a protest demanding a meeting with their brother.
Sources said the arrests occurred at a police checkpoint close to the prison, where the sisters, accompanied by lawyer Salman Akram Raja and other PTI supporters, were holding a sit-in. Several other PTI workers were also detained and later transported toward Chakri Interchange.
Aleema Khan had earlier told reporters they were determined not to leave until granted a meeting with Imran Khan, stating, “We were stopped just 2 kilometers from the prison.”
The detentions have heightened concerns among PTI supporters amid ongoing tensions over the treatment of political detainees and restrictions on family visits.
