Aleema Khan has said that Imran Khan has urged entire nation to come out of their homes for haqeeqi azadi and hopefully masses would come out on August 14 to express solidarity with PTI founder Imran Khan, reported 24 News HDTV channel.
Talking to media in Rawalpindi along with PTI secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Aleema Khan said sentences against Imran Khan will vanish soon, adding that PTI hoped courts will provide justice to PTI leader.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said PTI has invited masses to come to the streets on 14 Augusts and it was not a protest march on independence day. He said PTI workers will come out to celebrate freedom and express solidarity with Imran Khan.
Salman Raja said it was not Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan as Mr Jinnah had dreamed of prosperous Pakistan with equal rights to the all calluses including minority. He lamented that judiciary was not independent. He said PTI will celebrate freedom on August 14. To a question, Salman Raja said Shah Mehmood Qureshi will not act without the directives of Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, senior leader on Tuesday said PTI has decided to celebrate Independence Day as Haqeeqi Jashan-i-Azadi and leaders and workers would not call it a protest march on August 14. According to officials, despite the call from the PTI founder, the party decided against protesting as it had already announced the holding of a workers’ convention on the same day.
PTI Lahore leadership was also not in a position to organize a new protest on August 14 after the failed attempt on August 5. PTI Punjab president and chief organizer were missing from public view, and the party had not yet obtained permission for the workers’ convention.
