The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has released its forecast for the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon for the Islamic year 1447 AH.
According to the report, the new moon is expected to be born at 11:06 a.m. on August 23, 2025. By sunset on August 24, it will be approximately 32 hours and 13 minutes old—well within visibility range.
Along Pakistan’s coastal regions, the time gap between sunset and moonset will be about 45 minutes. If skies remain clear, the moon is likely to be sighted that evening.
Based on these conditions, the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal is expected to be observed on August 25, 2025.
