What is your dream job?
I am currently studying social education, and my dream job is to work with people with disabilities as well as their families to help ensure they can have jobs and take their place in society without feeling like outsiders.
If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be?
I would just eliminate clocks if I could. The stress they put on you to run around all day, knowing you have to be at training, at the gym, studying – there’s always somewhere to be.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Time with people I care about. My family, my friends, my boyfriend; everyone who has supported me and encouraged me to keep going and achieve my goals.
If you could teleport to any stadium in the world, where would you go?
I would go to Parc des Sports Aguilera, the home of Biarritz Olympique where my boyfriend Kerman Aurrekoetxea plays scrum-half. I love going there to see him and how happy he is playing for them. Also the Basque culture that is around Biarritz, there is a real family feel in the stadium.
What’s the weirdest souvenir you’ve picked up while on rugby tour?
I have a memory of the first time we travelled with the sevens team to the world series we were playing New Zealand in the opening match. When we arrived, all of our baggage was lost. Then when we travelled to Italy with the 15s team, half the team’s luggage was lost. We went to a bazaar and started trying on random stuff to buy – so probably clothes.
What is your guilty pleasure TV show?
I don’t watch a lot of TV but one show I love is Shameless. Also, despite being 26 years old, I love watching cartoons!
If you could have a dinner with three people dead or alive, who are you inviting?
I’ll say two. I am from the Asturias in Spain, so I would like to have dinner with Fernando Alonso and the singer Melendi, who are two famous people from the area. Melendi also has a very old song about Fernando Alonso so it could be a funny dinner.
Aside from your own, which country has the best rugby fans?
I have been playing in France for a while, and French fans are very patriotic, very loud and always supportive of their women’s teams as much as the men’s teams.
What’s been the best food you’ve tried in another country?
I went to Japan for our last tour. I’d never had ramen before, so to have ramen for the first time in Japan was an incredible experience!
What’s one place you’ve been to that you feel everyone should visit once?
I love New Zealand. The environment is very similar to the Asturias, and every rugby fan should go to New Zealand to take in rugby over there – they live and breathe it. Outside of rugby I would encourage everyone to go to the Asturias.
