JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) – Jaylin Galloway deservingly earned TISSOT Most Valuable Player honors after helping Australia complete their ‘three-peat’ bid by conquering the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 in sweeping fashion.
The young winger was awarded the tournament’s highest individual award shortly after playing a crucial role in the Boomers’ pulsating 90-89 victory over China in the Final at the King Abdullah Sports City, Sunday night.
Galloway finished with 23 points behind a 6-of-10 clip from beyond the arc alongside 5 rebounds as he came through with important three-pointers in the fourth quarter that kept his side in the thick of the fight.
He finished the event with solid per-game averages with 14.2 points on 66.7-percent shooting from deep, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 steals as he helped the Aussies stay perfect in the competition.
By finishing another edition unbeaten, Australia are now in the midst of an 18-game winning streak in the meet, which dates back to their first foray in the Asia Cup in 2017 in Beirut, Lebanon.
Galloway headlined the All-Star Five, which also featured his teammate Jack McVeigh, the towering frontcourt tandem of Hu Jinqiu and Wang Junjie of China, and point guard Sina Vahedi of bronze medalists Iran.
