Netflix has officially announced that Emily in Paris will return for its fifth season on December 18. The upcoming season of the popular romantic comedy will see Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, embarking on a new chapter of her life in Italy.
The streamer also released first-look images that confirm Emily will spend part of the season in Venice, adding a fresh backdrop to the series, which is best known for its Parisian setting. Season 5 will explore both personal and professional developments as Emily navigates new challenges abroad.
According to Netflix’s official synopsis, Emily is now the head of Agence Grateau’s Rome office and must balance her career and romantic entanglements in a new environment. Just as things seem to be falling into place, a work-related idea backfires, triggering emotional and professional setbacks. In search of stability, she rediscovers the rhythm of her French lifestyle—until a major secret threatens one of her closest relationships. As she confronts these challenges, Emily begins to form deeper connections and emerges with a renewed outlook on life and love.
The returning cast includes Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini, Thalia Besson, Paul Forman, Arnaud Binard, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque.
The series was created by Darren Star, who also serves as writer and executive producer. Lily Collins is also credited as a producer.
