The Women’s Asia Cup 2025 hockey tournament, scheduled in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China, from September 5 to 14, will witness eight top teams from the continent compete for the coveted title and a spot at next year’s World Cup.
The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) announced the revised Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 schedule earlier this week.
As per the format of the tournament, the eight participating teams have been divided into two groups of four teams each. After single-headed round robin matches, the top two from each group will make the Super 4s stage.
The Super 4s will determine the finalists for the Women’s Asia Cup 2025, with the championship clash between the top two teams set for September 14.
The third and fourth-placed teams from the Super 4s will contest the third-place playoff match on the same day.
India, who won the competition in 2004 and 2007, are in Pool B with three-time Asia Cup winners Japan, who are also the defending champions.
Meanwhile, hosts China, also two-time continental champions like India, and the Republic of Korea, the joint-most successful team in the competition alongside Japan, are in Pool A.
