Liverpool will discover their Champions League league-phase opponents for 2025-26 when the draw takes place next Thursday (August 28).

The second season featuring a revamped format will again see 36 teams participate during the opening stage of the competition proper.

Clubs will be separated, based on seeding, into four pots of nine and will then be assigned to play two sides from each pot – one at home and one away.

Twenty-nine qualifiers have already been decided. The final seven spots will be confirmed after the conclusion of the play-off round on Wednesday (August 27).

In principle, teams cannot be drawn to face a club from their own league and cannot meet more than two opponents from any one other country.

The draw for the league phase will be held in Monaco and is scheduled to begin at 5pm BST. It will be streamed live on UEFA.com.
