Australia’s Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre (CISC) is seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated individuals who would be keen to undertake a voluntary role as a member of the Resilience Expert Advisory Group. The Trusted Information Sharing Network’s (TISN) Resilience Expert Advisory Group (REAG) promotes organisational resilience in support of Australian critical infrastructure owners and operators. The initiative focuses on giving advice, guidance, and tools to mature security and resilience approaches.
The expression of interest process is being conducted to ensure the retention of corporate knowledge with sufficient refreshment and renewal of membership, as required. Nominations close by Sept. 12 this year.
The REAG advises the TISN and reports to the Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council (CIAC) on practical ways for critical infrastructure owners and operators to strengthen their organizational resilience. Its role is to support security and resilience improvements and help achieve the objectives set out in the 2023 Critical Infrastructure Resilience Strategy and Plan (2023 CIR Strategy and Plan).
REAG members are responsible for attending monthly meetings to advance initiatives within the REAG Forward Work Plan that align with deliverables in the 2023 CIR Strategy and Plan. They also engage in consultation activities across the TISN Sector Groups and with Home Affairs stakeholders to support work programs tied to the plan. In addition, members consult on and review critical infrastructure security and resilience resources and documents to ensure alignment with best practices.
Current REAG members bring a broad range of skills, knowledge, and experience to support the TISN and CIAC. Their expertise includes risk and resilience, personnel hazards, supply chain and network hazards, industry engagement, stakeholder engagement, and communications.
“We encourage anyone with the appropriate qualifications to apply. We welcome applicants from diverse cultural or linguistic backgrounds, people with disabilities, women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders,” the CISC said in a Monday statement. “You will need to be able to commit to several virtual meetings a year to apply. We will accept applications from existing TISN members, and those who are not yet members of the TISN who meet the specified criteria. However, we expect that non-members will join the TISN and complete the TISN deed of confidentiality.”
A panel will be appointed to review nominations, followed by short interviews with shortlisted applicants.
