A pint of Guinness, a London bus, and a group dip in the pond – such was the order of the day when Boodles heiress Honour Wainwright tied the knot to Charlie Coleman, son of tennis doyenne Annabel Croft. The bride had, after all, said that she and her mother wanted the wedding to be ‘more Kate Moss than Kate Middleton’, so where better to host the big day than her family home in Hampshire?
It was Annabel’s daughter, Lily Saffron Coleman, who gave an insider’s account of the weekend, penning a touching tribute to her ‘new sister’ on social media. Wainwright, who works as the marketing manager at her family’s heritage jewellery house, wore an ethereal wedding dress, with a Victorian-style high neckline and lace sleeves, decorated with floral details and paired with a cascading floor-length gown.
Naturally, as a Boodles scion, Wainwright selected a truly dazzling ring, showcasing the gem in a picture with her groom. The engagement ring had already been a showstopper: an ashoka cut diamond, exclusive to the iconic British brand, as she told The Wedding Edition following her engagement last year (the pair had met at university, though she was at Exeter while he was up in Edinburgh). ‘My brother was an absolute lifesaver, guiding Charlie through the whole process,’ Wainwright explained. ‘Since Charlie works just a street away from the shop I am based above, they had secret meetings in nearby coffee shops to pick the perfect stone; he didn’t want to risk running into me at the shop.’
