Chick-fil-A to open restaurants in UK and Singapore

US-based quick-service restaurant company Chick-fil-A is to expand internationally by opening its first permanent restaurants in the UK and Singapore.

In the UK, Chick-fil-A plans to open its first restaurant in Leeds as part of a commitment to establish five locations by 2027.

The company has announced an investment of more than $100m in the UK market in the decade to 2034.

The Leeds restaurant, to open in autumn 2025, will be led by local owner-operator Mike Hoy, a London native with experience in the restaurant industry.

Chick-fil-A’s expansion into Singapore, which marks its entry into Asia, will commence in late 2025, with a projected ten-year investment of $75m.

Chyn Koh, a Singapore native with a career in the restaurant industry, will serve as the local owner-operator.

Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew Cathy stated: “Expanding in both Europe and Asia is a meaningful milestone for Chick-fil-A. The investments we are making in the UK and Singapore not only present opportunities for our business but are also a chance for us to bring what makes Chick-fil-A special to new places – great food and remarkable hospitality, our unique franchise model and the positive impact we have in communities.”

The brand’s local owner-operator model is integral to its operational strategy.

These owner-operators are small, independent business owners dedicated to supporting their team members and contributing positively to their communities.

More than 200,000 team members are employed by local owner-operators across more than 3,000 restaurants in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

In early 2025, Chick-fil-A announced plans to establish five to seven new restaurants in British Columbia, Canada, by 2030, with the first location expected between late 2027 and early 2028.

The brand aims to open eight restaurants across Ontario and Alberta in 2025 – the highest number of openings in Canada since its market entry in 2019, and has launched 22 restaurants across Canada since 2020.
