Pakistan’s central bank forex reserves rise by 18 mln USD-Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — Pakistan’s central bank foreign exchange reserves rose by 18 million U.S. dollars during the week ending on Aug. 22, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Thursday.

According to the SBP, the reserves increased to 14.27 billion dollars from 14.26 billion dollars a week earlier.

The net foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks stood at 5.34 billion dollars, taking the country’s total liquid foreign reserves to 19.62 billion dollars as of Aug. 22, the SBP added.
