29 August 2025, Sydney – Microsoft has appointed Jane Livesey as Corporate Vice President and its next Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. Upon joining the business in November, Livesey will succeed Steven Worrall, who has held the position since January 2017.
In her new role, Livesey will leverage her global experience in driving digital transformation to accelerate Microsoft’s growth across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to Rodrigo Lima, President of Microsoft Asia, she will lead a trans-Tasman team in delivering market-leading tech solutions to customers across the public and private sectors while contributing to the prosperity and resilience of regional economies.
Lima welcomed Livesey’s appointment, commenting, “Jane is a proven leader with deep industry expertise and a passion for nurturing top-performing teams. Her experience in driving transformation at scale and commitment to purpose-led leadership make her the ideal choice to chart Microsoft’s next chapter of innovation and growth in Australia and New Zealand.”
Livesey brings more than 25 years of experience in technology and consulting, having held senior leadership roles with global firms across Australia and Asia Pacific. She currently serves as President of Asia Pacific and Japan at Cognizant, one of the world’s largest professional services and digital transformation companies. There, she led the company’s regional growth agenda, with a strong focus on tech innovation, customer success and talent development. She previously held senior leadership roles in prominent technology firms including PwC, Accenture and IBM.
“I’m honoured to join Microsoft at such a pivotal time for the region,” said Livesey. “Australia and New Zealand have unique sets of market conditions at play that make the region primed for outsized growth, and I’m excited to work with our customers, partners, employees and communities to harness the power of AI and cloud technologies to build a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future.”
Livesey is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the technology sector and has been recognised for her leadership in advancing gender equity and digital skills development. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Lincoln University in New Zealand and is a member of Chief Executive Women.
Until Livesey joins Microsoft later this year, Steven Miller will continue to serve as interim leader for the Australia and New Zealand business and will play an instrumental role in her onboarding.
