DuPont to sell Aramids business to Arclin

Chemical maker DuPont said on Friday it will sell its Aramids business to peer Arclin for $1.8 billion.

The sale comes as the Wilmington, Delaware-based company undergoes a broader reorganization, including the spinoff of its electronics business.

DuPont will sell the Kevlar and Nomex brands from the Aramids portfolio as part of the agreement.

The company expects pretax cash proceeds of about $1.2 billion upon the sale’s close, along with a note receivable of $300 million and a non-controlling stake valued at $325 million in Arclin.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
