4 Programs On Carbon Credits At Climate Week NYC 2025

The 2025 Climate Week NYC is taking place September 21 – 28 in New York City. The annual event is hosted by the non-profit Climate Group and held in conjunction with the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly. It will gather international leaders from politics, business, and science to advocate for climate change reforms. The sessions will indicate the future of climate change policy and provide insight for business leaders as to future regulations, including carbon credits.

The overall theme of the 2025 meeting is “Power On.” The programming is divided into ten categories: Built Environment, Energy, Environmental Justice, Finance, Food, Health, Industry, Nature, Policy, and Sustainable Living. Each session is hosted by organizations and businesses throughout the city.

With over 300 sessions running simultaneously in person and virtually, finding the right schedule can be difficult. Below are four programs focused on carbon credits.


The Role of Nature Based Carbon Credits in Corporate Climate and Nature Strategies

September 23, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Theme: This session will explore how companies can credibly integrate forestry carbon credits into their sustainability strategies and contribute to a more systemic, transformative climate approach that benefits both people and the planet.


Putting Carbon Credits to Work – Networking & Panel Event

September 23, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Hosted by: Climate Impact Partners

Theme: Hear from corporate leaders and project partners on how high-quality carbon credits create business value and deliver measurable climate impact. Followed by drinks and informal networking.


NbS Carbon Credits: Forest as a Climate Solution

September 24, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Hosted by: Reservas Votorantim

Brazilian Citrus Program for Climate Adaptation

September 24, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Speakers: Maria Belen Losada Head of Carbon Products Itaú BBA; Mario Bertoncini, CEO Citrosuco; and Clauber de Andrade CLCAO Citrosuco.

Theme: This session will present an innovative approach to scaling sustainability in agriculture through the Brazil Citrus Program for Climate Adaptation a landmark partnership between Citrosuco and Itaú BBA. Designed to support citrus growers expanding into Brazil’s Cerrado region, the program leverages regenerative soil management practices to boost productivity, enhance biodiversity, and generate high-quality carbon credits.
