“He asked himself if he can ever really love someone…”
Amid dating rumors between BTS’s Jimin and controversial alleged girlfriend Song Da Eun, a past interview about Jimin’s solo music has resurfaced, sparking divided reactions from netizens.

A post titled “They say this is what Jimin said when he released his solo, for real” recently went viral on the Korean community site Instiz as one netizen shared an excerpt from a Weverse Magazine interview last year. In the discussion, producers Pdogg and GHSTLOOP (who worked on Jimin’s solo album, Muse) shared Jimin’s perspective on the record’s lead single, “Who.”

When asked why “Who” was chosen as the last song on the album, Pdogg explained that the original plan was to follow the songs “Slow Dance” and “Be Mine” with a serenade-type track — but said Jimin himself “was having trouble relating to it” due to his feelings about love.

Our plan was to follow that song with the lead single and write it as a serenade, but Jimin was having trouble relating to it. He asked himself, ‘Am I even capable of loving someone?’ and that question led to the creation of ‘Who.’ The album is about looking for some imaginary woman, but ‘Who’ is about the reality of feeling lonely and melancholy, and asking yourself where the person for you is, which is why we made it the very last track.

Given the recent buzz around Jimin and Song Da Eun, the interview is now gaining fresh scrutiny from Korean netizens, with many questioning how authentic Jimin’s previous claims about romantic love during the Muse promotional period truly were.

- “Acting like he has no girlfriend and doesn’t know love yet while he does have one.”
- “Wow ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
- “Well, no way he’d leave the woman he loves just like that. Guess he was a fake lover.”
- “This is doing too much.”
- “So annoying.”
- “I guess fans are going around shielding him with this stuff but it’s so obvious.”
- “Now I get why Jimin barely ever mentioned that album, it was kinda weird.”
- “Aside from Jimin being a low guy, this is just a reach. Honestly, I think it’s also a reach when people overanalyze lyrics and interviews of singers who are openly dating but still put out love songs.”
While some dismissed any connection, others who believe the rumors expressed frustration. Despite many of the same netizens suggesting that Jimin’s thoughts on love should not have been shared during Muse, many are now calling on both Jimin and Big Hit Music to open up and release an official statement.
