‘Supernatural’ Hamza Igamane has Lille boss predicting wild claims as he is smitten over £10m Rangers capture

The former Rangers striker sealed a £10m move to the Ligue 1 big boys and ripped it up

Hamza Igamane

Smitten Lille boss Bruno Genesio hailed Hamza Igamane as “great” before claiming the sizzling striker will have pundits predicting a Treble for Lille this season.

The former Rangers striker sealed a £10m move to the Ligue 1 big boys on Thursday. The wantaway forward claimed an injury stopped him playing against St Mirren but there were no issues as he bagged a brace in a sizzling 7-1 thumping of Lorient.

Igamane entered the action at the interval with the game poised at 0-0 but his impact was immediate as he got in on a second half goal glut and helped Lille make a statement and keep pace with Paris Saint-Germain.

And the Lille boss reckons it will be hard to keep the hype bottled after the 22-year-old ripped it up in his debut in French football after the local media labelled his bow as “supernatural”.

A beaming Genesio said: “After a match like that, I know exactly what’s going to happen: we’ll become the favorites for the title, the Europa League, the Coupe de France.”

Igamane then led the post-match chant in the Lille dressing room as he made an instant impression both on and off the pitch.
