FIBA AmeriCup 2025: Brazil hold off Argentina to win fifth crown

Brazil beat Argentina 55-47 in the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 final on Sunday (31 August) in Managua to capture their fifth championship.

Georginho de Paula led Brazil with 13 points. Yago Santos, who had 11 points and five assists, was named tournament MVP in the Nicaraguan capital.

Francisco Caffaro led all scorers with 15 points for Argentina, who beat their arch-rivals in the final three years ago to hoist the trophy for a fourth time.

Brazil upset the United States to reach the final. They won their first tile since 2009.
