Jakara Anthony has Mount Buller mogul course named after her

Australian Olympic women’s mogul champion Jakara Anthony has had a course at Mount Buller named after her in recognition of her achievements.

The 27-year-old freestyle skier‘s journey began at the resort with her parents’ first meeting on the mountain in Victoria. Anthony then started skiing there as a toddler, before joining the Team Buller Riders’ moguls program at age 11.

There she would cut her teeth before making her moguls World Cup debut five years later.

At Beijing 2022, Anthony made history by becoming her country’s sixth Olympic Winter Games gold medallist after triumphing in the women’s moguls competition.

Her career successes also include 22 World Cup victories and a silver at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in 2019.

Anthony is currently training at Mount Buller with the ambition of making her third Olympic outing at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 in February.
