Nominations sought for 2025 Citation for Chemical Breakthrough Award

The American Chemical Society Division of the History of Chemistry is seeking nominations for the 2025 Citation for Chemical Breakthrough Award. The award recognizes publications, books, and patents from around the world that have advanced the field of chemistry. Awards will be made to the department or institution where the breakthrough took place, not to the individual scientists or inventors. “Breakthrough,” which is the main criterion for nominations, refers to advances that have been revolutionary in concept, broad in scope, and long term in impact. Elaboration on the criteria, further information about the award, and a nomination form can be found on the Division of the History of Chemistry website. The deadline to submit nominations is Oct. 10. Nominations and questions can be submitted to Jeff Seeman by email at jseeman@richmond.edu.
