Take your productivity to the next level with PLAUD’s AI-powered voice recorders

Bogdan Petrovan / Android Authority

Sitting through long meetings, lectures, or brainstorming sessions can be quite a chore. And the rushed, scribbled notes you’ve taken are likely not only disorganized, but also probably missing important information as you struggle to keep up. If that sounds like a daily occurrence at work or in school, the PLAUD Note Pro, Note, and NotePin are made for you.

These sleek and compact devices are all about portability. The PLAUD Note and Note Pro are ultra-thin credit card-sized gadgets that you can comfortably carry around in your pocket or in a card slot in your phone case. Meanwhile, the PLAUD NotePin is no different than a compact wireless mic, which you can easily clip to your collar, attach to a lanyard, or even carry on your wrist with a wristband, making it an ideal travel companion.

You can use these voice recorders to capture everything from meetings and interviews to lectures and your own voice memos. You can even use the Note and the Note Pro to record phone calls by attaching the devices to the back of your phone using a magnetic card case. And that’s when PLAUD Intelligence, through the PLAUD app, takes over.

Going beyond simply recording, the AI-powered app automatically transcribes these conversations and transforms them into automated summaries, searchable transcripts, and to-do lists with key action items. PLAUD isn’t just for executives stuck in meetings all day. Creatives can brainstorm and capture ideas on the fly, students can use it to turn lectures into study guides, and travelers can capture their experiences on the go.

The PLAUD Note and NotePin are extremely capable AI-powered voice recorders. But if you want to take things even further, you need the PLAUD Note Pro. It comes with improved mics for enhanced audio capture and a 1-inch AMOLED display, allowing you to view key information at a glance.

But its coolest feature is “press to highlight.” By simply pressing a button, you can essentially tell the AI which parts of the meeting or lecture to prioritize. Not only is it extremely helpful, but it also fosters real-time alignment between the user and the AI.

Put simply, PLAUD makes capturing and using information much easier, no matter what you do. You can get the PLAUD Note and NotePin now, while the Note Pro is currently up for pre-order. And stay tuned for the App 3.0 global launch this October. This update introduces exciting features, including the ability to combine audio with your own quick notes or images within the app, and Plaud Intelligence will then compile it all into a structured record.

Ulefone brings “rugged” back to smartphones

Ulefone RUGONE Xever 7 Pro (1)

Bogdan Petrovan / Android Authority

Most smartphones come with polished glass builds, edge-to-edge screens, and ultra-thin bodies that look great, but aren’t particularly durable. Rugged phones are a niche that has gone by the wayside, but something Ulefone is bringing back with its new brand, RugOne, and the Xever 7 series.

The Xever 7 is the first in the lineup and is slim and lightweight, but designed for the outdoors. The highlight? A replaceable battery! For hikers and travelers with battery anxiety, a battery that can be easily swapped out is a huge win. It also makes the phone more sustainable, meeting new EU regulations. In fact, the Xever 7 even comes with an extra battery in the box – no additional spending required.

It’s not a small battery either, with the 5,500mAh capacity more than enough to comfortably last a full day, if not more. And with the extra battery in tow, you don’t have to worry about charging the phone when out and about.

That’s not the only outdoor-friendly feature, of course. Built to take a beating and survive the elements, the Xever 7 comes with an IP69K/IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and is MIL-STD 810H certified for drop protection. The phone also supports eSIM, giving you flexible connectivity when you’re traveling across borders or have multiple numbers.

And to make sure you don’t struggle in the dark, the Xever 7 comes with a 64MP Night Vision camera, and the Xever 7 Pro takes things a step further with a built-in FLIR 3.5 thermal imaging camera. You can use this for checking for heat leaks at a campsite, spotting wildlife at night, or even for using it for work in the field.

The Xever 7 is the first rugged phone with OIS in its primary 50 MP camera. That means clearer shots and steadier video, even in tough environments where your phone isn’t on a tripod. Other features include a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of built-in storage. All in a stylish body that screams protection without being bulky.

Who needs training partners when you have the Switchbot Acemate Tennis Robot

Next up on the list is a device that’s one of the coolest we’ve seen at IFA in a while. If you’re a tennis player, you absolutely have to check out the Acemate Tennis Robot from SwitchBot.

First, while it may look like one, the Acemate Tennis Robot is so much more than a ball machine – it’s the first real-rally tennis robot you can get. While traditional ball machines only fire balls at you, usually at a preset pace and height with no fluctuations, the Tennis Robot can predict, move, and actually “return” your shots with lifelike precision.

The Acemate Tennis Robot features dual 4K binocular cameras and utilizes advanced AI-powered algorithms to achieve centimeter-level accuracy. And with reaction times as fast as 0.15 seconds, playing against it feels as close to a true rally as possible and nothing like we’ve seen before.

It features a range of training modes built in, can reach speeds of up to 113 km/h, adjust spin, and target 20 different zones on the court. Acemate adapts to your goals, whether you’re drilling cross-court forehands, practicing volleys at the net, or simulating a full match.

It’s also designed to be practical and portable. It’ll automatically follow you onto the court, so you aren’t pulling or pushing anything yourself. It holds up to 80 balls, and with a large net to catch returns, you can avoid frequent breaks that usually occur to collect and replace the balls in a standard machine.

The Acemate Tennis Robot can provide a full workout, thanks to its 6,700mAh battery, which allows it to run for up to three hours. And works on hard, clay, and grass courts! The built-in AI also analyzes every shot for ball speed, spin, and placement, and you’ll get instant feedback through the app with detailed heat maps and even video replays.

So whether you want a reliable sparring partner, an AI-powered coach, or a versatile serve and drill assistant, the Acemate Tennis Robot is redefining what solo tennis training looks like.

Samsung took the wraps off its latest tablets at IFA 2025. Unlike previous generations with three models, the Plus is no more, with Samsung opting to focus only on the compact but powerful Galaxy Tab S11 and the huge but ultra-thin Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

Speaking of thin, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is one of the thinnest tablets around at just 5.1mm, while boasting a larger-than-ever 14.6-inch AMOLED display. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of built-in storage (further expandable via microSD card). And keeping everything running for days is a massive 11,600mAh battery.

On the other hand, the smaller Galaxy Tab S11 has a 10.9-inch screen and an 8,400mAh battery, but everything else remains the same as the Ultra model, giving you a more compact but equally powerful tablet option.

Samsung’s efforts to provide a laptop replacement continue with improved keyboards for both tablets, a better S Pen (albeit without Bluetooth), and a significant upgrade to Samsung DeX. This includes the option to run up to four separate workspaces, along with support for multi-screen setups with the ability to drag and drop windows from one screen to another.

On the software side, you’ll find familiar Galaxy AI features to help with writing, drawing, and summarizing audio. And it now comes in a new floating overlay, making it easy to move it between multi-screen setups quickly.

The Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra are available now, starting at $799.99 and $1,199.99, respectively.

Multi-cam audio recording is easier than ever with the DJI Mic 3

If you’re looking to upgrade your audio setup to meet larger video production needs, nothing makes it easier and simpler than the DJI Mic 3. Bringing significant upgrades compared to its predecessor, the DJI Mic 3 now supports connections with up to four transmitters and eight receivers, making it ideal for multi-camera video shoots.

The receivers have a range of 300m, and can actively switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels to avoid interference. The best part, if you’re a video editor, is timecode support, so your recordings remain synchronized.

Other upgrades include two-level noise-canceling technology, which significantly improves voice clarity, even in loud environments. There are also three different Voice Tone modes, and an enhanced Adaptive Gain Control system will help adjust the gain in response to how loud the input is. Of course, it also has 32-bit floating audio support, so you can control gain in post.

The Mic 3 is almost half the size of its predecessor and is much lighter at just 16 grams. But you’ll still get significant battery improvements, with up to 10 hours of backup from each receiver, and the charging case adds 18 hours of use.

For a portable and much-improved mic setup for your multi-cam video shoots, the DJI Mic 3 is the one to get.

No more language barriers is one step closer to reality with the Timekettle AI Interpreter Earbuds

timekettle W4

Bogdan Petrovan / Android Authority

Timekettle is all about making the dream of seamless global communication a reality, and the company is one step closer to its goal with the W4 AI Interpreter Earbuds.

These earbuds are the first to combine bone-voiceprint sensor technology with AI-powered translation with context awareness. With bone conduction, the earbuds pick up vibrations directly from your bones to eliminate the issue of background noise and provide crystal-clear accuracy. It won’t struggle to “hear” your voice, even in noisy environments.

Of course, these aren’t your typical earbuds, but are elevated translation devices. The translation accuracy is an impressive 98%, and there’s virtually no lag, taking just 0.2 seconds to provide a translation. Conversations don’t feel robotic or delayed, and you don’t have to sit through the awkward silence that usually occurs with turn-based translation devices. The experience is akin to having a personal interpreter in your ear.

Bogdan Petrovan / Android Authority

The W4 AI Interpreter Earbuds also solve one of the biggest pain points when it comes to machine translation – phonetically similar words. With large language model integration on Babel OS 2.0, the device understands context and can differentiate between words like their, there, or they’re, or to and two.

You can share one of the earbuds with someone else for instant two-way conversation. The earbuds automatically switch between listening and speaking modes, so the conversation is natural instead of turn-based. And with the ability to recognize and translate 42 languages and 95 accents, the W4 covers more than 95% of the world.

You get up to 10 hours of translation or 18 hours of music playback with the charging case. And future updates will include AI-powered voice cloning for even more natural-sounding conversations. At $349, the Timekettle W4 AI Interpreter Earbuds could be the ultimate travel companion or for chatting with anyone across a language barrier.

Of course, the visuals are the most crucial aspect of any projector, and the Horizon 20 Max delivers. With 5,700 ISO lumens, you can watch anything comfortably, even in daylight or bright rooms. The RGB Triple Laster system provides excellent color accuracy, and the device supports Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, HDR10+, and Filmmaker Mode.

Samsung’s “Fan Edition” phone continues to bring flagship features at mid-range prices

Samsung also unveiled the latest addition to its S25 series, the Galaxy S25 FE, at IFA 2025. Like previous generations, the S25 FE borrows quite a few features from the flagship line, while being a more affordable alternative. It even does a few things better than the base Galaxy S25, the flagship it most directly competes with.

That starts with the screen size. Yes, many prefer the Galaxy S25 because of its smaller screen. But if you’re hoping for the same types of features but on a larger phone without spending a couple of hundred dollars more on the S25 Plus, the Galaxy S25 FE is your answer. Featuring a bigger 6.7-inch screen with an FHD+ resolution, the FE offers the price vs specs balance you might be looking for.

The bigger size also means a larger battery, and the cameras are similar. Of course, the flagship is a little more powerful and has more RAM and storage, but that’s where the FE shows its mid-range nature. It does charge faster than the standard S25, though, and is quite a bit cheaper.

If you’re hoping for a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy S25 series with some similar features and the same software experience, the Galaxy S25 FE is made for you.

TCL goes premium with the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra

TCL NXTPAPER 60 Ultra transitioning to full color mode

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

TCL is a mainstay at shows like CES, MWC, and IFA, showcasing everything from its latest line of TVs, smart home products, and other gadgets. But as Android fans, what we give our attention to is TCL’s smartphones and tablets. And at IFA 2025, the company unveiled its latest offering, the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra.

While TCL is known for its ultra-affordable smartphones, the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra breaks the mold by going a little more premium than usual with specs to match. It comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage, along with a triple camera system headlined by a 50MP shooter. A large 5,200mAh battery keeps the phone running comfortably for a day or more.

But of course, phone specs aren’t the highlight. The NXTPAPER 60 Ultra features the latest version of the screen tech, NXTPAPER 4.0, and continues to focus on providing features that reduce eye strain. You get two eye comfort settings called Eye Comfort Mode and Personalized Eye Comfort Mode – the former uses AI to automatically adjust settings based on what you’re doing, like watching a video or reading. At the same time, the latter gives you direct granular control over color, brightness, contrast, and other settings.

The NXTPAPER Key returns to make switching between color and the Max Ink mode (complete monochrome) easy, and the phone is packed with features to reduce eyestrain. This includes everything from a natural light display and blue light purification to reflection-free anti-glare viewing, zero flicker technology, and dim-light viewing mode. And the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra is also compatible with a stylus, a first for the brand.

Lenovo’s at it again, this time with a laptop that has a physically rotating screen

Lenovo ThinkBook VertiFlex Concept in portrait mode on stand

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

We’ve seen numerous laptop concepts at shows like IFA over the years, including dual-screen laptops, foldable laptops, and those with extendable rolling screens. And there’s usually one name associated with these devices, Lenovo. Well, IFA 2025 is no different, and this year, Lenovo is back with a laptop screen that can be rotated 90 degrees. If you’re someone who uses portrait-orientation monitors, this is right up your alley.

The Lenovo ThinkBook VertiFlex is a concept device featuring a screen that rotates along its center. The product Lenovo showcased at IFA features a 14-inch screen connected to an anchoring mechanism that allows you to switch the screen between landscape and portrait orientations. As anyone who has used a portrait monitor knows, it’s great for reading or writing documents, reviewing code, and for multi-screen tasks. And that’s the convenience Lenovo is hoping to bring to the laptop space.

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

Now, this is purely a proof of concept, so we have no information on whether the mechanism is motor-driven or manual, what the display technology is, or even what materials the laptop is made of. But Lenovo isn’t a company that shows off concept devices without at least some plans to bring them to consumers down the road. And like every other concept laptop they’ve shown, this is just so cool!
