Over 743,000 Afghans repatriated from KP as nationwide repatriation continues

The repatriation of Afghan citizens from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is continuing, with thousands returning to their home country through the Torkham border.

According to the provincial Home Department, on September 8 alone, 2,491 people crossed back into Afghanistan, including 746 undocumented individuals. To date, more than 743,000 Afghans have returned from KP.

Nationwide, a total of 605,992 undocumented Afghan residents have been repatriated. Additionally, 89,467 Proof of Registration (PoR) cardholders and 48,254 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders were also sent back, the majority via the Torkham crossing.

The Home Department further reported that from other regions – including Islamabad, Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan – 30,694 Afghan nationals have also been repatriated.
