Oppo A6 Pro: New midrange smartphone reaches China with a large 7,000 mAh battery

Oppo has finally launched a successor to the Oppo A5 Pro, which debuted in December 2024 in China. The new Oppo A6 Pro comes with notable upgrades over the last-generation model in terms of battery and display. To be more exact, the battery capacity of the device is larger than before. Compared to its predecessor, which features a 6,000 mAh battery, the Oppo A6 Pro boasts a large 7,000 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired charging (the Ugreen Nexode 100 W USB-C charger curr. available at $34.99 on Amazon).

Under the hood, the A6 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. This is the same processor found on the A5 Pro. Software-wise, it runs Android 15-based ColorOS 15 out of the box, and there’s no word on software support from the brand.

Another major change is the size of the display, which is now slightly smaller compared to the last-generation model. The device sports a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, a step down from the 6.7-inch display of the A5 Pro. The screen delivers a resolution of 2372 x 1080 pixels with 120 Hz refresh rate support and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, up from 1,200 nits.

Speaking of lenses, the A6 Pro retains the same camera specs from the last-generation model, featuring a 50 MP primary camera paired with a 2 MP depth sensor. Upfront, you’ll find a 16 MP shooter for selfies and video chats. The rest of the highlights of the A6 Pro include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a triple IP rating (IP69, IP68, and IP66), 4300 mm² VC cooling, Oppo Crystal Shield glass, and NFC support.

Available in black jade, gold, and blue colorways, the Oppo A6 Pro starts at 1799 yuan (~$252) for the base 8 GB + 256 GB model, while the high-end 16 GB + 512 GB variant is priced at 2499 yuan (~$350). The smartphone is now available for pre-order in China via Oppo’s online store, and open sales will begin on September 12.
