Woodspeen Training, a specialised provider of pharmacy technician apprenticeships, has announced that the company has ceased trading.
On 11 September 2025, Woodspeen Training said that “Woodspeen/JTM has closed, and we are currently working through the next steps with administrators”.
“We may only be able to provide limited information at this stage. We will share updates as soon as we are able,” it added.
Woodspeen offered a range of apprenticeships across professional sectors, including Level 2 pharmacy services assistant and Level 3 pharmacy technician apprenticeships.
According to data collected by the Department for Education (DfE), 17 people had completed Woodspeen Training’s pharmacy technician course in 2025, while 598 people have completed its pharmacy services assistant course since 2021.
The DfE said it will be contacting people who are affected by the closure, to discuss the next steps so that their learning can continue.
On the same day as the announcement, Amy Laflin, acting president of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK), said: “APTUK recognises the significant impact this may have on pharmacy technician pre-registration trainees (PTPTs), employers and the wider pharmacy workforce. This is an unsettling time for many, and we want to reassure all affected individuals that APTUK is here to support you.
“Our priority remains the progression, wellbeing and professional development of PTPTs, and we are committed to providing guidance and advocacy during this period of uncertainty.”
APTUK is engaging with relevant stakeholders to explore solutions that would “minimise disruption to training and qualification pathways”.
“We are working to ensure that PTPTs are not disadvantaged and that alternative arrangements are communicated clearly and promptly,” Laflin said.
She expressed that APTUK encourages any PTPTs, employers or education providers to get in touch with the association if they had any concerns.
“Our team is available to provide advice, signpost resources and offer support tailored to individual circumstances,” Laflin added.
Woodspeen Training has been approached for comment.
