Brock Lesnar is back. Last week, Lesnar attacked John Cena before their Wrestlepalooza main event. “The Beast Incarnate” returns to WWE SmackDown this week ahead of their big-ticket collision.
Lesnar’s shadow has loomed large ever since his shocking return at SummerSlam. Cena pivoted to a feud with Logan Paul at Clash in Paris with no Lesnar sighting. Lesnar struck once the dust had settled between Cena and Paul. On Friday, Lesnar makes his mission statement ahead of his last encounter with Cena. The rivals, who came to prominence in the “Ruthless Aggression Era,” have wrestled six televised matches. Lesnar is up 2-4 in their series, but Cena won their most recent encounter at Night of Champions in 2014.
Three matches are advertised for Friday with two titles at stake. WWE women’s champion Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill run back their SummerSlam match, plus Sami Zayn defends the United States title in an open challenge. The biggest match of the night might be the non-title match between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre.
CBS Sports is with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
