RAWALPINDI/ QUETTA: Security forces have killed 31 Indian-sponsored Khwarij in two separate engagements in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the last two days.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on September 13 and 14, 31 Khwarij belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij were eliminated in targeted actions in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts.
On confirmed reports of militant presence, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was launched in Lakki Marwat. Security forces engaged the hideout effectively, and after a fierce exchange of fire, 14 Indian-sponsored Khwarij were sent to hell. In another IBO in Bannu, troops neutralised 17 more Khwarij following intense crossfire. Sanitisation operations are being carried out to clear the area of any remaining Indian-backed terrorists, as Pakistan’s armed forces remain determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday appreciated the security forces for the successful operations against Fitna al Khwarij, eliminating 31 terrorists in Lakki Marwat and Bannu. He lauded the professional capabilities of officers and personnel for sending the Khwarij to hell, the PM Office Media Wing said in a statement.
The prime minister reiterated the resolve to continue the fight against the scourge of terrorism until its complete eradication. “For the protection of the motherland, the entire nation, with firm determination, stands shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces,” he added.
Separately, five soldiers including a captain were martyred in an attack on a security forces vehicle in Turbat district of Balochistan on Monday. Those martyred were: Captain Waqar Ahmad Kakar, Naik Junaid, Naik Ismat, Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, and Sepoy Zahoor.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel condemned the attack in separate statements. In a statement, the governor expressed deep sorrow and stated that terrorism was a mentality based on fear and brutality that must be eradicated.
CM Bugti, in a tweet, said: “Deeply saddened by the martyrdom of Captain Waqar Kakar, a brave son of Balochistan who laid down his life defending his people & beloved Pakistan.” He further added that his sacrifice would be remembered forever as a shining chapter of courage and honour.
