SMART’s robust technological infrastructure allows Garanti BBVA to offer a secure, fast, and seamless payment experience. Initially launched with Miles&Smiles Garanti BBVA credit cards and American Express cards, this feature allows customers to enjoy greater benefits on their payments without any additional steps at Turkish Airlines sales points, American Express Lifestyle, and American Express Select establishments.
The SMART system is available for NFC, QR, and GarantiPay payments on the Garanti BBVA Mobile and BonusFlaş apps. NFC transactions are automatically processed on the card that offers the customer the most benefits. For QR and GarantiPay payments, the system recommends a specific card on the screen, and users have the option of changing this card if they prefer.
Garanti BBVA Deputy General Manager Ceren Acer Kezik stressed that payment systems are at the heart of the bank’s business, designing payment technologies that not only meet current needs but also shape the online shopping habits of the future. “With SMART, we are once again leading the way by offering an innovative experience in contactless payments. Customers no longer need to think about which card to choose when making a payment; SMART selects the most beneficial card for them,” she explained.
Kezik also noted that innovations like SMART are part of the bank’s strategy to adopt a ‘Radical Client Perspective’ across the bank – helping customers achieve their goals in life and in business. This means redesigning all of the bank’s products and processes with the customers’ perspective in mind and innovations like SMART are a powerful example of how smart technologies can transform customer experience. “We will continue to offer new solutions that further personalize payment processes with the support of artificial intelligence and data analytics, making our customers’ financial lives even easier,” she added.
