TL;DR: We’re beginning a closed beta of new partner programs for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and VALORANT that will bring unique benefits and better support to creators.
Back when League was our only game, we had the League Partner Program (LPP). But, years ago, we paused new applications as we figured out the next evolution of our Partner Program–one that can help support incredible creators across our growing list of games. It’s taken some time but we’re looking forward to taking the first step towards that new system with a series of beta-test programs for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and VALORANT.
Starting today, select creators around the world are being invited to participate in a closed beta version of the new programs. For League partners, it’s a chance to finally welcome in creators who have been patiently waiting while applications were frozen. For VALORANT and TFT creators, it’ll be the first introduction of unique benefits, partner perks, and long-term program support.
Beginning in late October, a new slate of benefits will start to roll out to creators in the program. This includes a “Like, Comment, Subscribe” title in League of Legends, a “VALORANT Partner” title in VAL, and a unique Little Legend in TFT. Over the next several months, you can expect to see these games experiment with additional perks and features. Some of these perks might stay, some might evolve, and others may rotate out. The goal right now is simply to better understand what creators find impactful.
Our ambition is to build Partner Programs that feel meaningful and intentional for creators across our games. This beta is about gathering feedback from both creators and players to ensure that–when we’re finally able to open our Partner Programs to all interested creators–we’ve built something worth the wait. We know creators are eager to be part of our programs, and we’ll be sure to update you all when we’re ready to open applications more broadly.
Thank you for your patience, passion, and all the incredible creativity you’ve shown over the years, we can’t wait to welcome you to these revamped programs when the time is right.
Why is this test limited to certain creators? / Why wasn’t I invited?
While we would like this test to be open to everyone, the Partner Program is still in development and smaller tests ensure it will be at its highest quality before it’s launched more broadly. These creators represent a variety of different regions and communities from around the globe which will allow us to properly test this feature across a wide range of audiences.
What about Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Riftbound or 2XKO?
Long term, we want to build programs to support creators for more of our games. Right now we’re starting with League of Legends, TFT, and VALORANT to test that our backend systems work at scale. Creators currently receiving benefits in Wild Rift will continue to receive all of the benefits associated with their Wild Rift creator partnership. While it’s not a formal partner program, we will continue supporting creators globally with the suite of existing perks.
How long will this beta run and when can I apply?
Right now, we’re testing the baseline Partner Program experience with select creators. Our goal is to come back to the creator community with more information in late 2026 regarding the evolution of these programs, including a re-opening of the application process for new creators late in the year.
What’s the difference between a beta and an official launch?
Being in beta allows us to set the right expectation that some of these perks and programs are experimental and almost certain to change in some way before we open the experience to a wider group. It also allows us to gather feedback from players and creators, so we evolve in the right ways to build the best experience possible. Once we move into an officially launched program, you can expect features to be more permanent and applications to be regularly reviewed.
What happened to the old League Partner Program? Is this different?
The League Partner Program you see today is an evolution of what you may have previously seen. It’s not separate–but it is different. The changes we’re making introduce new, improved benefits for creators, and help Riot support more creators without sacrificing quality.
I received an invite to a Partner Program. It says it’s from Riot–how can I verify if this is a scam or an official invite?
We know that there have been recent attempts by bad actors to solicit account information from creators by posing as an official Riot program. Creators who are invited to participate in this beta will receive an email from a “riotgames.com” or “mail.creators.riotgames.com” email address. If you receive an email from any other company or website, it is not from Riot. Please know that Riot will NEVER ask for your password, nor reach out to you via Discord or text message with a link to apply.
If I was in the League Partner Program, am I guaranteed to be in this program?
While we’re bringing over a ton of our legacy partners, it’s been a long time since we’ve updated the creator list. In that time, some creators have moved away from League, changed their focus, or stopped making content altogether. Some of those creators will not receive an invite to this new program as we’re placing a focus on bringing the people driving our communities forward every day.
Will chroma giveaways for League of Legends continue with this new program?
As part of the evolution for LPP, we evaluated existing perks and new ways for verified creators to engage with their community. Chroma giveaways are not part of the new set of benefits, but we hope that players and creators alike will enjoy what we’ve got cooking.
