The NBA is celebrating the start of a new season with its 6th Annual NBA Jersey Day on Monday, Oct. 20.
Fans, influencers and celebrities are encouraged to show off their favorite teams and players in celebration of American Express NBA Tip-Off 2025.
Before the 2025-26 season tips off on Tuesday, Oct. 21, wear your favorite jersey and share a photo on social media, tagging your favorite teams, players and the NBA.
The rules
- Post a picture of yourself wearing an NBA jersey from any era on social media within the 24-hour window
- Tag @NBA and team accounts
You can be featured on the league and team social media channels and connect with basketball fans around the globe!
Support your favorite teams & players
Got a retro jersey you’d like to show off? How about a brand-new model from Nike’s City Editions? That works too.
Support rookies like Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg, San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper or Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe. Be the first to rock their jersey numbers as they embark on their NBA careers.
There’s nothing wrong with showing a little love to the classics either.
Last year, Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić led the NBA in jersey sales, followed by Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Lakers forward LeBron James, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson.
Opening Week Double-Headers
NBA Jersey Day sets the stage for the highly-anticipated American Express NBA Tip-Off 2025 on Tuesday, Oct. 21, which features a doubleheader on NBC and Peacock as the league embarks on a new era. The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder will receive their championship rings ahead of their opening-night matchup against Kevin Durant and the new-look Houston Rockets (7:30 ET, NBC/Peacock).
Closing out the night, the Warriors and Lakers square off in a star-studded battle. With Curry and James leading the way, Jimmy Butler III and Luka Dončić join the budding rivalry in one of the league’s must-watch matchups (10 ET, NBC/Peacock)
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, ESPN tips off its first doubleheader of the season as Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers take on Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks (7 ET, ESPN). Later on, fans will get a sneak-peak at the future of the NBA as the top two picks Flagg and Harper go head-to-head in a Texas showdown between the Mavericks and Spurs (9:30 ET, ESPN).
