Mythology Adds Cat Gunderson and Elisa Werbler to Creative Leadership

Mythology has recruited Cat Gunderson and Elisa Werbler as creative directors, where they’ll lead projects across the agency’s advertising and brand departments.

The creative duo first partnered at Red Antler, where they launched Hinge’s breakthrough ‘Designed to be Deleted’ campaign and created the beloved (yet doomed) Hingie mascot while helping emerging brands scale through standout advertising.

At The Martin Agency, their Oreo ‘Twist On It’ campaign marked the brand’s triumphant return to the Super Bowl after a decade-long absence, earning Silver and Bronze Lions at Cannes. They also reimagined brand approaches for Nerf—introducing the mascot Murph—and Old Navy, crafting the brand’s first commercial under Zac Posen’s creative direction.

Both Cat and Elisa took winding roads to advertising, with stops in academia and furniture design before finding their calling in brand reinvention. Their proven track record in brand building and award-winning creative instincts position them perfectly to elevate Mythology’s already impressive roster, which includes A24, Target, Harry’s, and Meta.

“Mythology is a unique place. We don’t only do advertising, and we don’t only do branding. We do it all, but with the understanding that a brand is not a campaign. It’s not a logo. It is a story, and not even one that we tell, but one we hope to inspire others to. Cat and Elisa demonstrate this belief and practice in all of their work and we’re so excited to see what they do next,” commented Audrey Attal and Kim Haxton, partners and ECDs, Mythology.
