From the Ashes will release later this year just in time to move along with the new movie.
Ubisoft announced From the Ashes will release for the 2023 game on December 19th for $24.99. There will also be a base game plus the DLC expansion available for $39.99 that releases the same day. And yes, that’s the same day you’ll be able to see the newest iteration in the franchise by James Cameron in theaters.
“From the Ashes is set in a ravaged and occupied version of the Kinglor Forest which includes a new sub-region, The Ravines. It mirrors the themes of the film as it sees the RDA ally with the Ash Clan, fierce Na’vi warriors who thrive on chaos and pain as they intensify their efforts to eliminate threats to their regime. So, whilst the film and expansion are set in different regions of Pandora, there is some shared DNA and we’ve worked closely with Lightstorm to ensure both pieces of Avatar media are complementary.” IGN
The developers also note that two of the clans in the game will also appear in the upcoming movie, along with a new surprise character in the DLC story chapters.
We have enjoyed the game here at Cinelinx and it flew under the radar rather tightly when it released in 2023. It has been on sale recently at major retailers for under $20, and would be a good time to check it out in anticipation for the new chapter.
