The Indian cricket team confirmed its place in the Asia Cup 2025 final with a 41-run victory over Bangladesh in their second Super 4 game at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Put in to bat, India got off to a flyer thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s 75 off 37 balls, but Bangladesh clawed their way back to restrict the world champions to 168/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Saif Hassan’s fighting 69 off 51 kept Bangladesh in the hunt, but India’s spinners Varun Chakravarthy (2/29) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/18) applied the brakes to limit Bangladesh to 127/10 in their 19.3 overs.

The win assures India a place in the final with two wins in the Asia Cup Super 4 stage. They beat Pakistan by six wickets on Sunday and will take on Sri Lanka in their final Super 4 game on Friday.

Bangladesh began well with the new ball, testing Sharma and Shubman Gill with swing in the first three overs, which yielded just 17 runs. The next three, however, went for 55 as India finished the powerplay at 72/0.

Despite losing Gill and Shivam Dube in quick succession, Sharma continued to strike at a brisk pace, bringing up his second successive half-century in 25 balls in the eighth over.
