Qualcomm unveils cutting-edge platforms to accelerate AI experiences

MAUI, United States – US tech giant Qualcomm on Wednesday unveiled the world’s fastest mobile system-on-a-chip and next-generation personal computer (PC) processors at its annual tech summit in Maui, Hawaii.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile CPU to date, is designed to deliver revolutionary user experiences and set new industry benchmarks, according to the company.

“It enables personalized AI agents to see what you see, hear what you hear and think with you in real time,” said Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm’s mobile handset division. “Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 pushes the boundaries of personal AI, allowing you to experience the future of mobile technology today.”

At the summit, Qualcomm also introduced two advanced processors for Windows PCs — Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme and Snapdragon X2 Elite.

Both processors deliver superior performance, multi-day battery life and groundbreaking AI capabilities, making them the fastest and most efficient processors ever built for Windows PCs, it said.

Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme is designed for ultra-premium PCs, tackling agentic AI experiences, complex data analytics, professional media editing and scientific research. Meanwhile, Snapdragon X2 Elite offers powerful and efficient multitasking for productivity, creativity and entertainment across resource-intensive workloads.

The Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm’s annual tech summit, runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
