The Redmi Bluetooth Speaker 2 is a new addition to Xiaomi’s growing portfolio of accessories. This affordable wireless speaker features a compact and lightweight design, but as Xiaomi claims, it can offer full-range audio with a dual-driver configuration.
Besides offering wireless playback through Bluetooth 5.3, the Redmi Bluetooth Speaker 2 can play audio through a microSD card. There’s even support for wired playback through the USB-C port, offering the ability to use the speaker even when the battery is low.
Speaking of which, the Redmi Bluetooth Speaker 2 comes with a 1,000 mAh battery, which is said to offer up to 5 hours of runtime. Users can also pair two of these wireless speakers together to get them into stereo mode, and this configuration is said to be perfect for outdoor parties.
Like some of the other portable speakers, like the JBL Clip 5 (curr. $69.95 on Amazon), users can take advantage of the built-in removable buckle to hook the wireless speaker to a backpack. The Bluetooth speaker also features an IP67 water-resistance rating, making it capable of handling outdoor weather conditions.
Among the other highlights of the Redmi Bluetooth Speaker 2 are a round design for easy grip, availability in three colors, and built-in buttons for easy operation. The wireless speaker launched in China with a price tag of CNY 99, around $14. Xiaomi has yet to reveal when this portable speaker will make a global debut.
