Asus ROG Xbox Ally X preorders are due to open in an hour, but Best Buy may have jumped the shark, listing the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X for $999 and the Asus ROG Xbox Ally for $599.
Eagle-eyed Destin Legarie of Save State Plus spotted Best Buy listed the prices of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X and Xbox Ally an hour before the 8pm ET / 5pm PT opening preorder window. Those are both higher than the rumored $899 price for the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X and $549 price for the Asus ROG Xbox Ally that were projected by leaks thus far.
Disappointing! However, these higher prices were somewhat expected with the recent $20 and then $50 price hikes of the Xbox Series X/S consoles. Just a few hours ago, we were positing how this pattern could repeat with the Xbox handheld, and it seems as if Microsoft is prebaking the price increase with this preorder.
In a little more than half an hour, we’ll see if these really are the real prices of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X and Asus ROG Xbox Ally.
