Vehari – Several key initiatives were carried out in Vehari, including flood relief efforts, the HPV vaccination campaign for girls, a population welfare stakeholders’ meeting, and a review of the PLUS revenue project.Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imrana Tauqeer said philanthropists are actively donating food, clothes, bedding, and other essentials at the Mehrban Camp for flood victims, while the district administration is working round the clock for their rehabilitation. She also stressed the importance of HPV vaccination to protect girls from cervical cancer, urging parents, teachers, doctors, and community leaders to support vaccination teams administering the vaccine to girls aged 9–14 years.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Babar Suleman chaired a meeting on population welfare, highlighting the need to address unchecked population growth and promote maternal-child health through community awareness.
An awareness walk was also organized. In a separate meeting on the PLUS project, he directed revenue officers to expedite partition cases, correct record errors, and intensify public awareness in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision.
