When disaster strikes, survivors need immediate financial assistance to cover essentials and begin recovery. PayPal helps power Red Cross financial assistance distribution, accelerating access to critical funds for those impacted. By combining PayPal’s technology with the Red Cross’s frontline expertise, aid can reach people quickly, whether in the form of shelter, meals, or direct financial support.
In 2025 alone, the Red Cross has already supported more than 927,000 people with meals, shelter, and recovery assistance. PayPal’s ongoing commitment helps ensure they can respond immediately while speeding survivors’ access to the resources they need.
How you can be prepared: a few simple steps
- Build a kit with at least 72 hours of essentials – food, water, medications, documents.
- Make a plan with your family and practice it.
- Stay informed with local alerts and the Red Cross Emergency app.
- Get involved as a Red Cross volunteer.
