A council has started a crackdown against people leaving extra bags of rubbish by their bins outside their homes.
Burnley Council has sent 105 enforcement warning letters as well as 83 legal notices which have asked people to “attend interviews” about “smaller fly-tipping”.
Two warnings were also sent to landlords and 31 final reminders were issued before fines were enforced via the magistrates’ court, the authority said.
The council said one business was issued with a warning over the lack of a proper waste disposal agreement. The letters were all sent out over the last few months.
