Eagles vs. Buccaneers Inactive Report

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have their starting quarterback on Sunday against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, and he will welcome back two of his most significant sidekicks.

Despite dealing with a right biceps injury that limited him throughout the week oi f practice, quarterback Baker Mayfield will make his 38th straight start since joining the Buccaneers in 2023. He will be joined in the starting lineup by All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs and wide receiver Chris Godwin, both of whom will be making their 2025 debuts.

Wirfs had been sidelined by a knee injury that required surgery in July. Godwin has not played since a severe ankle injury sustained in Week Seven of last season; at the time, he was leading all NFL players in receptions. Neither player was placed on the reserve/PUP list to the start the season, which allowed them to return in Week Four. Had they been on the PUP list, Wirfs and Godwin would have been required to miss the first four games of the season.

Godwin’s return is well-timed, as the team will be without top receiver Mike Evans for several weeks, due to a hamstring injury he sustained last Sunday against the New York Jets. Safety Christian Izien is also unavailable on Sunday due to a quad injury. Defensive tackle Logan Hall was limited for much of the week in practice due to a groin injury but has been cleared to play on Sunday.

The Buccaneers and Eagles submitted their list of inactives at 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of their Week Four meeting at Raymond James Stadium. The Buccaneers did not elect to elevate any players from their practice squad for the game and thus had to name five inactives to get down to the game-day limit of 48. The Eagles also did not activate any practice squad players and needed to put five players on their inactive list.

With All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson recovering from the stinger that knocked him out of most of last week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles’ roster is virtually at full strength in Week Four. Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, who is dealing with a groin injury, is the only active Philadelphia player who is sidelined for today’s game due to injury. The Eagles did place outside linebacker Nolan Smith on injured reserve earlier this week, however.
