Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s next remake brings Yakuza 3 to current-generation platforms with improved visuals, additional story scenes, and more. However, it’s also improving the combat, as showcased in a new First Look trailer. Check it out below.
The two available styles are Dragon of Dojima and Ryukyu. Not the most extensive selection, but the former has been “completely revamped” and promises the “most diverse moveset in the series.” The latter revolves around weapons, which can be swapped in real-time to devastating effect as part of the Okinawan kobudō style.
There are eight in total and include a buckler (complete with a Captain America-esque shield throw), dual tonfa, nunchaku, kama, eku (a type of oar in Okinawa), tekko, and more. And as is the case in Yakuza, their Heat Actions are appropriately over-the-top.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 launches on February 12th, 2026, for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, for $59.99. The package includes Dark Ties, a side story featuring Yoshitaka Mine as the protagonist. Head here for more details.
