WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The No.5-ranked Liberty Lady Flames secured a 4-0 road shutout win over the William & Mary Tribe to close out the weekend, Sunday afternoon at Busch Field.
Paced by two goals from Lou Combrinck and goals from Dara Semmartin and Avery Pollock, Liberty improves to 7-1 on the year following the non-conference victory. The Lady Flames record their third straight win, third straight shutout and fourth shutout in the last five contests. The Tribe fall to 1-7 and have lost four straight.

Liberty struck first in the sixth minute, with Dara Semmartin sending a penalty corner shot in into the left side of the goal for a 1-0 lead at the 5:35 mark. The assists went to Morena Giacosa and Lou Combrinck. Early in the second quarter, Combrinck found her way into the scoring column, firing a reverse into the right side following a scrum in front of the cage for a 2-0 lead for the guests.
Liberty took a 2-0 lead into the half and extended its lead to four goals in the early stage of the third quarter. Josefina Tomasi helped set up the first goal of the second stanza, sending a crossing pass from the right baseline to Avery Pollock.
