The OnePlus 15 is reported to be launching in three colors, but one of them will have a more premium build than the rest. This version is called Sand Dune, and ahead of the phone’s official unveiling, OnePlus has released new images highlighting its design.

OnePlus is expected to announce its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, soon. However, while the launch date is yet to be announced, the manufacturer has been releasing details of the device, such as specs and design features, in bits. The latest, which it has shared via its Weibo page, are official renders that highlight one of the colors the phone will be available in.

Called Sand Dune, this color variant of the OnePlus 15 has a pale brown hue similar to desert sand, and OnePlus itself says that the color is inspired by sand dunes. This color is one of three that OnePlus is expected to unveil, with the other two reported to be Black and Purple.

According to OnePlus, it isn’t just the color that is special. This version of the OnePlus 15 also has a special frame described as aerospace-grade nano-ceramic metal. It is reported to be 26.3% lighter than titanium but 134% harder and 26.6 times better at heat dissipation than titanium. The other two colors will have a different type of frame that is also a bit heavier.

OnePlus isn’t the first manufacturer to use different materials for different colors of the same smartphone. However, one thing that is certain is that the variant with the more premium build and finish will cost more. So we can expect this Sand Dune color option to have a higher price tag than the other color options.

OnePlus may also make this color exclusive to certain configurations, probably the one with the highest RAM and storage just like it did with Midnight Ocean OnePlus 13 (curr. available on Amazon for $929.99)
