Porsche has teamed up once again with Paris-based creative Arthur Kar to mark the 25th anniversary of the Carrera GT.
The result is a capsule collection that blurs the line between high-octane engineering and street-ready style, unveiled in suitably Parisian fashion with a pop-up exhibition in the Triangle d’Or, just a stone’s throw from where the Carrera GT itself debuted back in 2000.
From pit lane to Paris runway
The Carrera GT remains one of Porsche’s most revered machines, thanks to its carbon monocoque, naturally aspirated V10 and razor-sharp silhouette. Kar’s tribute leans into that DNA.
“Paris is where it all began for me, my roots, my first job in a Porsche workshop and my deep connection to the Carrera GT,” he said. “Launching this collection here, where that car was first revealed to the world, means everything to me”.
Highlights include the Puma-designed Speedcat Trainer, offered in black/silver or silver/black-carbon, with detailing that riffs on the original car – logos from Michelin and Bose included. Just 1270 pairs exist, echoing the production run of the actual supercar. A cotton blouson jacket, limited silver-edition pieces, and four bold Carrera GT T-shirts round out the core apparel.
Toys, trinkets and track-day nods
The anniversary nod extends well beyond clothing. There’s a Playmobil Carrera GT set complete with figurine, a 1:1 replica of the car’s ignition key (limited to 612 units), and leather key rings in GT Silver or carbon-look.
It’s less “Porsche Design” minimalism, more playful celebration of a car that still commands reverence.
Into the metaverse (because of course)
Not content with pop-ups and Puma collabs, Porsche has also dropped the collection into Zepeto, the avatar-based social platform. Digital wearables allow fans to kit out their online selves in Carrera GT-inspired gear, while three interactive booths bring a touch of Leipzig and Paris into the virtual world.
Porsche is only the second carmaker to officially appear on Zepeto – proof that the Carrera GT’s reach goes far beyond the asphalt.
The Paris pop-up stayed up until this past Saturday, with selected exclusives staying local. Wider online sales through Porsche’s store and chosen Centres have already begun. In any case, for a car built to thrill on track yet celebrated on the catwalk, the Carrera GT still knows how to steal a show.
