Asep Ajabar speaks at Council of Asian Shopping Center Conference 2025

Asep Ajabar, Associate Director, and Conor Gan, Business Development Manager, represented Benoy at the Council of Asian Shopping Center (CASC) Conference 2025 in Jakarta on 24 – 26 September.

The three-day event convened ministers, governors, retail leaders, and shopping centre professionals from across Asia to share insights on retail innovation, shopper engagement, and the evolution of lifestyle-driven destinations.

Keynote: The Psychology of Experiential Architecture

On the opening day, Asep delivered a keynote address on how psychology, storytelling, and adaptable design — through climate-responsive planning, hybrid zones, and digital integration — shape compelling retail environments.

He illustrated these ideas with several of Benoy’s landmark projects:

WEAVE (Resorts World Sentosa), Singapore: a biophilic, climate-responsive lifestyle hub

ICONSIAM, Bangkok, Thailand: a riverfront destination integrating retail, culture, and leisure

• Shibuya Parco, Tokyo, Japan: a dynamic urban retail space in the heart of Shibuya

Networking and Industry Engagement

On the second evening, Asep and Conor joined industry peers at the gala dinner, connecting with retail leaders, investors, and policymakers. The conference closed with a study tour highlighting Indonesia’s latest retail and shopping centre developments.

Held under the theme Creating Engaging Experience: Attracting and Retaining Shoppers,” CASC 2025 featured F&B and retail talk shows, strategic discussions, and perspectives from chairpersons of shopping centre councils across Asia.

Benoy’s Rolé in Shaping Retail’s Future

Through the keynote and industry exchanges, Asep and Conor reinforced Benoy’s commitment to reimagining retail destinations — creating experiential, future-ready spaces that connect people, culture, and commerce.
