Murdoch University and Oracle (China) Software Systems Co., Ltd have unveiled a landmark collaboration tailored for Chinese students.
Amid rapid advances in technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and big data, the partnership embodies their shared vision of merging academic excellence with industry-aligned training—combining Oracle’s technology and product certifications with Murdoch’s international academic resources to nurture the next generation of digital talent and sustain human capital for the digital economy.
The collaboration will enable Chinese students to benefit from Oracle’s cutting-edge technology training with access to Murdoch University’s internationally-recognised higher education opportunities. Students will first undertake Oracle skills and foundation learning in China, and obtain Oracle certification upon completion of this phase. Qualified students who have earned the certification will then progress to Murdoch University’s Singapore campus for degree-level studies
This initiative marks the launch of a long-term cooperation framework, with both Murdoch and Oracle China exploring the possibility of establishing a more permanent platform to combine enterprise-driven training with international higher education pathways.
To mark this collaboration, a launch event was hosted on the afternoon of 21 September 2025 at Oracle China’s Beijing campus. The event brought together representatives from universities, social organisations, and industry partners to jointly discuss concrete approaches for implementing the talent development initiatives.
Professor Peter Waring Pro Vice Chancellor of Transnational Education at Murdoch University, said the collaboration with Oracle represented a significant milestone in Murdoch’s strategy to deliver globally relevant education.
“By linking Oracle’s skills training with Murdoch’s academic pathways, we are creating opportunities that prepare students for the rapidly changing world of work,” he said.
Oracle’s Education Department in China also noted their commitment to cultivating digital talent and commented that “Partnering with Murdoch University allows us to integrate Oracle’s technology and product certifications with international higher education pathways, ensuring that students in China are well-equipped for the future.”
The partnership is also supported by One-Tom (Beijing) Internetworking Technology Co. Ltd., and Singapore’s Kingston International College Pte. Ltd. Kingston will play a pivotal role in operational management and regulatory compliance, while also delivering a personalised career readiness program that equips students with the industry exposure, employability skills, and support needed to secure successful careers in the sector.
Professor Waring said Murdoch University and Oracle were laying foundations for transformative education initiatives that bridge technology and academia, paving the way for the long-term development of new institutional models for digital talent cultivation.
