Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan resigns as top court judge

In a rare development, the Supreme Court’s second senior-most judge after the incumbent chief justice, Ijaz Ul Ahsan, resigned. 

According to sources, Ahsan, who is among the senior most judges of the top court, has sent his resignation to President Arif Alvi, raising questions over his untimely departure.
