Bobbi Brown knows that you can’t achieve a flawless makeup look without the right skincare. And when it comes to skin health, sun protection is non-negotiable. That’s why the beauty mogul just shared the “ideal” sunscreen that she says she uses for “everyday protection”—Jones Road Beauty Everyday Sunscreen.

The broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen is available in five shades, including an untinted option. “They’re just the right tints. It’s a mineral sunscreen. It’s not sticky, but it’s not dry. We’re launching it with [The Daily Brush],” Brown told Prevention.

Like many of her beauty creations, she waited to debut the product until it was just right. “Everyday Sunscreen took many years to develop. I had to make sure that not only was it clean and effective but that it also paired incredibly well with makeup. I needed it to look natural, layer well, and not have a dry or uncomfortable finish,” Brown added in a press release. “This is my new ideal base for everyday protection, and works perfectly with all of my Jones Road makeup.”

The mineral sunscreen contains zinc oxide to provide powerful sun protection, as well as nourishing ingredients like glycerin, vitamin E, and argan kernel oil for healthy, hydrated skin. The tinted shades also contain color-correcting pigments for a natural finish. Brown recommends applying the sunscreen after your skincare routine and before makeup with either your fingers or The Daily Brush.

Brown introduced the Everyday Sunscreen in a recent Instagram video, where she explained the formula and shades in-depth. “The best sunscreen for you is the one you’ll wear every day,” Brown explained, which is why the latest launch from the brand took over three years to develop.

“The goal for me was to create shades that look as natural as possible on the skin,” she added. “The first one is Untinted which has no pigments in it. The one I recommend for light skin tones is Sandy [a yellow hue]. The one I recommend for my skin tone is the next shade up, and that is Peachy. We needed one that works on darker skin tones—that is Golden, and one that has a little more red in it, we call Apricot.”

Brown has long been an advocate of wearing sunscreen—and maintains that you don’t need to sacrifice SPF or your makeup routine. “Shielding skin from UV rays is crucial for preventing skin cancer, of course, but it’s also key to keeping that youthful glow,” Brown previously told Prevention. “Instead of choosing between sun protection and makeup, you can use both.”

We recommend using it as a super-light coverage complexion-corrector, or wearing it under What the Foundation for a super-hydrated, sun-protected look.
