Riley Minix drained a buzzer-beating fadeaway to lift the San Antonio Spurs to a 93-91 overtime win over the Utah Jazz in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Monday evening.
The overtime period came down to a wild finish, including a game-tying dunk by Kyle Filipowski, followed by Minix knocking down a catch-and-shoot fadeaway off an inbounds pass for the win.
Filipowski put on a show, as he led the Jazz with 35 points on 11-for-19 shooting and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Meanwhile, David Jones Garcia led the way for the Spurs with 28 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal in 27 minutes off the bench.
The game was off to a competitive start until the Jazz rallied to a 14-point lead halfway through the third quarter. However, the Spurs responded from there and fought their way to a two-point advantage heading into the fourth. They kept the momentum going and earned an eight-point lead, but it was the Jazz’s turn to fight back, as they pushed to a two-point edge, before Spurs rookie Dylan Harper hit the tying bucket to force overtime.
Jones Garcia scored six straight points in overtime to lead the Spurs until Minix sank the game-winner. Minix, who went undrafted in 2024, had 13 points, six rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 29 minutes, while Harper finished with 16 points, two rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes.
